house design in norway 1 Simple house in Norway

Simplicity was the thing that got my attention towards this house in Norway. The straight lines of the house gives you the feeling of freedom and the need for vacation. Located on the south coast of Norway, this house has a view over the amazing archipelago and the owner wanted to maximize the view with help from the architecture of the house. Therefore, he turnedto Arkiteketer Filter Oslo studio. Besides the desire above, he also wanted intimacy and protection.
The project began as a renovation of a house which in 1940 was destroyed by water, rust and other things. The main materials are stone (exterior), a lot of wood, and rustic finishes and the colours used are neutral to match the Norwegian style. The rooms are strictly functional, without any enhancements or decorations. However, they look stunning and seem to be the perfect place for a good sleep. Read more ›

romantic bedroom 1 A romantic ambience in the bedroom

Creating a romantic ambience in the bedroom does not require filling the room with all sorts of feminine accessories, pink hearts and rose petals. There are other subtle ways in which you can create a bohemian atmosphere. Lights also plays an important part in creating a romantic ambience. You can put some lights above the bed, you can decorate different objects with lights like the headboard and you transform your bedroom into a magical set. The same thing can achieve from scented candles. In addition, they look and smell good. All you have to do is choose the form and flavor.
The bed is the centerpiece of any bedroom and deserves all your attention. Try to combine different textures, patterns and colours, the more the better, also add a delicate artificial fur blanket. Sometimes a soft, comfortable carpet gives a even more romantic look. Add some accessories like feathers or lace to complete the decor. Bed sheets are also important, choose satin and silk. 1 How to have a clean and beautiful living room

Well, try and choose the colours carefully as well as the shapes that will be filling your living room if you want to make it seem more spacious, clean and modern like this next flat which was decorated in a subtle urban style using only two classic colours: black and white. This home benefits of generous windows so the light fills this space everyday, however, intimacy is important and offered by blinds and curtains. The owners, a young couple, travel a lot so they wanted the design to be simple, clean, almost minimalist.
It may seem easy to achieve this elegant, simple and clean look but it sure isn’t. You need to choose the optimal proportion between the two colours which let me tell you, is not easy. Although not a fan of ceramic floors this one looks great and enhances the urban-modern and clean look, intended from the start.
The luminaires are simple, discret and in the center of the living room they used a carpet to give a little colour and to soften the dark black of the sofa. They decorated with black and white photographs made in the large cities of the world : New York, Paris to give this living room a more vintage look. Read more ›
